The 10 Most Memorable Commercials

1 Call of Duty Commercial – Black Ops

No other video game gets more hype about its release than Call of Duty. So when a commercial comes out with two well known celebrities – of course its going to go big. Kobe Bryant and Jimmy Kimmel are featured in this Call of Duty commercial promoting the release of Black Ops. The idea behind the ad is that there is a soldier in all of us. Definitely made me want to go out and get this game!

3 Google Commercial – Parisian Love

Google’s first commercial was one the most memorable commercials, ever. As to why Google would ever need to advertise is anybody’s guess – but this ad which played during the Superbowl was a great way to show just one of the million amazing things that Google has led to. If you haven’t seen it yet, stop for a moment and check it out.

4 Nike Commercial – Failure

Michael Jordan’s most famous quote about was put into a commercial, by Nike of course. It didn’t let MJ down, either. It was a cool way to represent the Jordan brand while at the same time magnify just how great the man was at basketball.

5 NBA Commercial – Rivalries Never Die

Continuing on the basketball trend, when the Lakers faced the Celtics in 2008 – the rivalry between the two cities was reborn. All of a sudden, my dad and I actually shared a common theme within both of our generations. For many, this was something to be excited about. There was no better way to show that than getting MJ and Bird to shoot this commercial.

Laughter is always something that’ll keep you remembering a commercial forever. The Etrade commercials have done just that. Each one is hilarious with their clever abilities to portray this baby as a savvy investor. Hilarious!

7 Apple Commercial – I’m a Mac

Today, Apple has set the tone on how to produce product commercials. But back in the day, there was always the “o’damn!’ factor in the PC vs. Mac commercials. These ads were very quirky, and to be honest – they rang true at one point to every PC owner. Very well done, Apple, as always.

8 Nike World Cup Commercial – Write the Future

The 2010 World Cup had some great ads. But this one, by NIke was by far the best. Write the Future was the concept of this commercial, as it showed players on the field imagine the outcomes of their very next move. Their guaranteed fame, their country’s love, their deepest fantasies come true. Nike did this one right. Also a must see if you haven’t already.

9 Doritos Commercial – Smack

I’m never a big sucker for commercials by big superbowl heavy brands like Pepsi, Budlight or in this case, Doritos. But this commercial was on of the better ones I’ve seen. Put it back!

10 GM Commercial – Paid in Full

It’s sad that this commercial didn’t really point out the truth that GM still owed the government a ton of money. But I will never forget how I felt when I saw this commercial (before researching and figuring out what was really the case.) GM, in my opinion, was able to harness some pride about American cars in this commercial…and that was a first for me.
